Mars

Mars is the fourth planet from the Sun in our solar system and is known as the "Red Planet" due to its reddish appearance, which comes from iron oxide (rust) on its surface. It is a terrestrial planet with a thin atmosphere, composed primarily of carbon dioxide, with traces of nitrogen and argon. Mars is characterized by its surface features, including the largest volcano in the solar system, Olympus Mons, and a canyon system, Valles Marineris, that runs across its surface. The planet experiences seasons similar to Earth due to its axial tilt and has polar ice caps that grow and recede with seasonal changes. Mars has been a focus of scientific exploration, with numerous missions aimed at understanding its geology, climate, and potential for past or present life. It has two small moons, Phobos and Deimos, and is considered a candidate for future human exploration and potential colonization.
